Q: What makes Incognito Custom Closets different from other closet companies?
A: There are real and significant differences between various closet organizing companies. Here are some of the things that make the Incognito Custom Closets your best choice:

  1. We purchase the very best material the closet industry offers, we warranty all of our work for life and we guarantee the lowest price. We hire and train our own professional designers and installers. All we do is design and install custom closets. This is not a sideline for us.
  2. We have all of our products manufactured in a state of the art facility, enabling us to closely control both the quality and delivery times for our products.
  3. Unlike most other closet companies, we utilize a thick 2mm PVC edge banding as a standard feature. This is a major advantage as it distinguishes our product from the rest in terms of durability and appearance. Our 2mm edge banding is guaranteed never to chip or peel!
  4. All Incognito Custom Closet designs begin with an inventory of your belongings and a survey of your available space so that each and every closet can be utilized to the max for your individual requirements. No stock or modular solutions for your unique storage problems…truly a custom approach that costs you no more.
  5. We use no subcontractors. Every aspect of our process is accomplished solely by Incognito Custom Closets employees. By not utilizing subcontractors, we ensure that our quality control is second to none.
  6. When you deal with the Incognito Custom Closets you are dealing with the largest and most successful closet company in the Mid-South. Our combination of product quality and low pricing is so unique that in addition to our Memphis area business, we have been asked to provide storage solutions as much as 150 miles from Memphis. This bears testimony to the true value that we provide.
  7. Unlike most closet companies that offer one or two colors and a couple of woodgrain finishes, Incognito Custom Closets has over two dozen stock colors and woodgrains from which to choose, as well as a wide selection of door and drawer front styles, options and accessories which enables true customization for our clients.
  8. And if all that were not enough to distinguish us from our competitors, we also offer the lowest price in the Memphis area, guaranteed!

Q: How much does a typical closet cost?
A: There are many factors that influence the cost of a custom closet system including but not limited to the basic design concept, the size of the space, the number of drawers and doors, the material selected and the options that are specified.
Incognito has the ability to design and build your closet organization to fit your closet, your wardrobe, and your budget. Our designers can show you different levels of design in our showroom and give you a range of price depending on the choices you select. We can show you examples from a few hundred dollars to several thousands of dollars.  Visit our showroom and see for yourself.
At Incognito Custom Closets, we price each and every part individually in order to accurately establish your cost. After your free consultation, your designer will create a custom design for you and give you our best price, up front, with no built in padding for haggling purposes. Your designer will work with you to create a design that meets your needs at a price that is most affordable. Don’t forget to ask about our lowest price guarantee so that you know you are paying the best possible price in the market place when you are comparing. We play no games at Incognito Custom Closets, you get a fair price, a great product and a tremendous value…guaranteed!

Q: Do you have a showroom?
A: Yes, our showroom is located inside the Quantum Home Showrooms at 5690 Summer Avenue in Memphis. Our hours are from 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday and Saturday from 9:00 to 2:00.

Q: Do your systems mount on the wall or do they sit on the floor?
A: We don’t believe that a company should offer you a closet system configuration that is based upon what is easiest for them to manufacture, but rather, we think that the construction method should be decided by what is most suitable for your unique application. In some instances, a floor mounted system is clearly superior, in other installations; a wall hung system might be advantageous. Design considerations and personal preferences should both be taken into account. At Incognito Custom Closets we manufacture both floor mounted and wall hung systems so that your job can be installed in the best possible manner, considering all variables appropriately, so as to avoid choosing a system based on what might be most convenient for us to make or install.

Q: How much does it cost for a designer to come to my home?
A: At Incognito Custom Closets, we always offer a free, no obligation, in home design consultation. In addition, unlike many competitors, we will leave our computer generated design drawing with you so that you can consult with other family members who may not be present at the time of our visit.

Q: Do you charge for your design?
A: There is no cost or obligation to you for Incognito’s initial design and quotation.  Incognito Custom Closets will be glad to send one of our designers to your home (locally please), measure your closet, measure you, count your shoes, skirts, slacks and suspenders, and prepare a preliminary design drawing and price for your consideration.  After evaluating our initial proposal, if you choose to have Incognito build your new closet, we will request a deposit, schedule the first available date in our installation calendar, make any revisions you request, and order the material for your new closet.

Q: How much does installation cost?
A: Professional installation is always included in our quoted price. While some companies advertise “free installation”, our installation is one of the more important parts of the service we offer. You get what you pay for, and we only offer the very best.

Q: Do you sell parts to the do it yourselfer?
A: We do not. Our system is designed for the professional installer.  However, our basic systems installed are frequently competitive with the do it yourself kits you may find elsewhere.  Ask one of our designers for a price.

Q: Do you only design closets?
A: No way! At Incognito Custom Closets we can organize your life! We offer innovative designs for home offices, laundry rooms, garages, basements, kids furniture, entertainment centers, libraries… any place in your home that requires organization, better space utilization, or storage.

Q: How long will your installation take?
A: Many of our installations can be completed in a day. We have several installation crews available (all company employees), and this generally minimizes both the wait for and time of installation, except during particularly busy times. Obviously very large jobs or very complicated jobs require more time. However, please keep in mind that as our craftsmen are installing your closet, it’s not a race, and we want to get it right the first time!

Q: Do you paint the closet?
A: Incognito offers three different levels of service to our clients.  You can choose to have us do only the installation of your new closets, or we can handle everything for you. Contractor: The least expensive. You have the closet prepared, Incognito handles the installation. Remodel: This includes Incognito removing the existing shelving, rods and cleats, then installation of the new material. Premier: We will remove all of the clothing or other articles from you closet, remove the existing shelving, rods and cleats, repaint the closet, then install the new material.  After installation, we will send a professional organizer to your home to replace all the articles back in your closet.

Q: Do woodgrain and other colors cost more?
A: Yes, typically woodgrains and other colors cost approximately 20% more than white units. This is due to the increased costs associated with the board and edge banding.

Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: Yes, we accept Visa and MasterCard.

Q: Do your units have backs?
A: Typically, as is the case with almost all closet companies, your wall acts as the back of our unit. Unless there is a specific reason why a back may be needed or desired, and unless it is clearly specified on your drawings, backs are not included. We can provide backs, should they be necessary, at an additional cost.

Q: Do you have accessories for your closets?
A: Indeed we do! Incognito Custom Closets offers the widest range of convenient accessory items available, including, but not limited to:

  • Hampers
  • Baskets
  • Raised panel doors/fronts
  • Crown moldings
  • Valet rods
  • Glass insert door/fronts

Q: Does your product come with a warranty?
A: Yes. Incognito Custom Closets offers a limited lifetime warranty.
Organizing systems by Incognito Custom Closets are manufactured with the highest quality materials and components to rigid quality standards and exacting tolerances.
Incognito Custom Closets standard component parts are warranted to the original purchaser for as long as they own the product. This warranty covers the products manufactured by Incognito Custom Closets in their original installation (without being moved once it is installed) against defects in material and workmanship. The word “defects” as used in this warranty, is defined as imperfections which impair the utility of the product.

This warranty is expressly limited to the repair or replacement of storage system component parts having defects. If a part is defective as per the terms of the warranty, Incognito Custom Closets will repair the defective part or furnish a replacement part at no cost to the original purchaser.
This warranty applies under conditions of normal use for the stated, intended purpose of the product. This warranty specifically excludes defects that result from intentional damage, negligence, installation by anyone other than an Incognito Custom Closets installer, reinstallation or relocation of the system after initial installation, unreasonable use or exposure.

This warranty applies only if all components and parts are manufactured, supplied by or installed by Incognito Custom Closets.

In addition, if the product you purchase from Incognito Custom Closets is manufactured with our exclusive 2mm edge, it is warranted to the original purchaser that all edges covered by the 2mm edge material shall not chip or peel away from the board in normal use for the life of the product.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Q: How does your lowest price guarantee work?
A: Incognito Custom Closets guarantees our retail customers the lowest price available on any melamine custom closet system. We will beat any competitor’s price based on an “apples to apples” comparison. In order for this guarantee to be valid, our designer must be given the original drawings and design plus the original price quotation from any other closet company to review.
Our designer will then point out any differences in the proposals and either beat the price or quote on the other company’s design to demonstrate exactly how we really compare, taking into consideration all variables such as design, material, edges, colors, etc.

There really is a difference in closet systems and we think you owe it to yourself to compare!

Q: What should we know about the company?
A: Incognito Custom Closets Inc. is the Memphis area’s leading closet company and one of the most unique suppliers of custom closet components in the mid-south. Incognito offers basic storage systems to our retail clients and to the home builder needing good quality, design and installation at a very competitive price.  We also offer storage solutions that look and function more like furniture for the dressing room or wardrobe, and everything in between.

The company, founded in 1994, originally marketed concealed safes hidden inside the client’s closet. Unable to establish a market for the concealed safes, Incognito soon became known as the problem solver for storage solutions by Memphis’ builders, architects and interior designers. We have the ability in-house to engineer and build storage solutions for almost any problem and budget.

Incognito Custom Closets has grown dramatically. From a modest beginning in a 300 square foot showroom located in the back of the Quantum Showrooms, Incognito today has over 5,000 square feet of showroom, offices and warehouse space, and a staff of over a dozen designers, customer service and installers.  Today Incognito provides storage solutions for over 50 home builders, and has over 3,000 clients in a 150 mile radius of Memphis.

The company’s goal is to continue to grow and prosper by focusing our skills and efforts on providing the best product, service and price, so that we may offer an outstanding value to our clients.

Q: How do I do business with Incognito Custom Closets?
A: We suggest that you visit our showroom first to see our material, design options and our operation.  If that is not convenient, please call our office at 901-387-4523 to schedule an appointment with a designer. Our customer service manager will be happy to arrange for a free in home design consultation with one of our professional design staff. The designer will come to your home or office, talk with you about your needs and desires, inventory your belongings, survey your space, and create a personalized design that is responsive to your needs. When you are presented with your design, you will also be advised of the cost of the project. After any necessary fine tuning or re-design you can place your order. If you choose to order at the time of the consultation your designer will ask you to sign the final drawings and our sales proposal. If you decide to proceed after our designer has left, simply call the office and we will arrange to get you the necessary paperwork for your signature. Once we receive signed drawings, a signed sales agreement and a deposit, your order will be released to the factory for manufacture, customer service will call you to arrange a mutually satisfactory installation date. And before you know it your life will become well organized, the Incognito Custom Closets way.

Q: What do I need to do before my installation?
A: We look forward to serving you and hope that we are favored with your order. Once you have finalized all design details and colors, please be sure to sign your drawings and return them with your deposit.

PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
Empty the closets, removing all of the contents and everything not attached to the walls prior to the arrival of our installers.

If you chose our remodel option and your closet had shelving, rods and supports when we measured, the installation includes the removal and patching of the walls with spackle. If you chose our contractor option, it is most likely that your walls will not be painted behind existing shelving or molding. If you are planning to paint your entire closet because you want to eliminate this “unfinished look”, you will find it easier to do before the installation of the closet system and should arrange to have this done prior to our arrival.

If there was a baseboard in your closet when we measured, please do not remove it. If there was no baseboard, please do not install one without notifying us in advance of installation.
If carpet is to be added to the closet, please discuss this with your designer prior to our arrival.
Remove all pictures, knick-knacks and the like from adjoining walls as they may be shaken loose during installation.

Please make sure that we have easy access to the installation location and that other vehicles do not impede our carrying material to the closet.

WHILE OUR INSTALLATION CREW IS IN YOUR HOME

  1. If you would like to keep shelving or any of the components we remove, please advise our crew before they begin working and let them know where you would like it put
  2. Please keep children and pets well clear of the work area.
  3. Our installation crew will build the system as per the plan which was part of our proposal. Any major changes or any additions that cannot be accomplished at the job site will entail an upcharge.
  4. Please make sure that someone is home during the installation that can answer any questions or make decisions regarding placement of accessories. If no one can be home, please tell the installer in advance where you want these accessory items located if these locations differ from placement shown on the plans.
  5. Upon completion you will be presented with an invoice. As per the terms detailed in our proposal, payment of the balance is now due. The installer will sign your copy of this invoice acknowledging receipt of payment. If you cannot be home when we expect to be finished, please arrange to leave payment or make other arrangements with the office in advance.

Q: What else should I consider before my installation?
A: Use it or lose it!
The first thing that each of us needs to do in connection with closet comfort is to examine all those things that we know deep in our heart we will never wear again, such as:

  • Anything with a stain that won’t ever come out, regardless of the claims of the products from Amazing Discoveries.
  • Anything with a hole that can’t be hidden or mended.
  • Anything that looks swell on the rack but that you can’t stand on your body.
  • Old shabby clothing or accessories that have sentimental value only.
  • Clothing that has been just a shade tight – for the past five years.
  • Shoes that are worn beyond repair – turned up toes, worn down to the max.
  • Clothing that is noticeably lower in quality from the things you are buying now.

Go ahead, toss it, you’ll feel better!

Transcendental Organization –
A State of Mind Over Belongings

Now that you have the ultimate in closet organizing systems as designed, built and installed by Incognito Custom Closets, just follow these simple laws of nature to assure the “organizers high” that comes to all who neatly fold:

  • Hang separates such as skirts, blouses and jackets in groups of similar items to help you see more combinations.
  • Don’t stack or hang items that shed like angora or mohair near ones that attract like corduroy or velvet.
  • Don’t hide things away in drawers that can be easily folded and displayed on open shelves.
  • Don’t hang sweaters or knits, fold them to maintain their shape.
  • Store special occasion shoes in labeled boxes on higher shelves. Use lower shelves for everyday shoes.
  • Fold scarves flat and place on the shelf between your double hang sections.
  • Belts with large or awkward buckles that won’t fit on belt racks can be coiled and stored on shelves.
  • Store purses flat and loosely stuffed with tissues to retain their shape.
  • To avoid snags, store hosiery in clear plastic bags or dedicated hosiery drawers.
  • Don’t squash too many items on a shelf or into a hanging area to avoid crushing or wrinkling.
  • Don’t be hesitant to continually update your wardrobe by removing those items you rarely worn or out of date as you add more items.
  • Experiment! Move things around, try new ways to maximize your storage space while preserving the condition of your belongings.

Q: Can you provide a reference list?
A: Yes, we are happy to provide a reference list. Ask your designer for the names of satisfied clients in your area and builders and remodeling contractors that use Incognito Custom Closets everyday.

Q: What if I do not live in the Memphis area?
A: Please call our customer service manager at 901-387-4523. We will be happy to help you or help you find someone in your area.

Q: If I move can I take the system with me?
A: Yes, Incognito Custom Closets systems are not only adjustable and changeable, they’re also moveable. However, many clients find that custom built-in closets often increase the value of their home when they are ready to sell.
